Privacy Policy for JotLog

Effective Date: March 2, 2026

Thank you for using JotLog ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our JotLog Chrome Extension ("Extension").

By installing and using JotLog, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

JotLog is designed to respect your privacy and minimize data collection.

  • Locally Stored Data: The Extension tracks your active browser tabs, screen time duration, and website categorization rules. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
  • Notion Integration Data: To function, JotLog requires access to your Notion account. We collect an OAuth token upon authorization. This token is stored securely in your browser's local storage and is exclusively used to communicate directly between our secure Cloudflare Worker intermediary and the Notion API.
  • Browsing History & Screen Time: We process the URLs (web addresses) of the tabs you visit to calculate your screen time and categorize your activity. This processing happens locally.
  • Synced Data: The only data that leaves your device is the daily summarized usage statistics (total time spent per category and domain) and your chosen Notion Page ID. This data is briefly transmitted through our Cloudflare Worker explicitly for the purpose of writing it into your designated Notion dashboard.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information strictly for the core functionality of the Extension:

  • To calculate and display your screen time and productivity metrics.
  • To block websites based on the categories and specific domains you configure.
  • To sync your summarized daily productivity data to the Notion page you selected.
  • To maintain and improve the Extension's performance.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or browsing history to third parties.

The only external party your data interacts with is Notion, as requested by you when you authorize the integration. Our Cloudflare Worker acts only as a secure bridge to format and transmit your data to your Notion database. We do not store your browsing history on our Cloudflare infrastructure.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension interacts with the following third-party services:

  • Notion API: Used to authenticate your account and write data to your chosen dashboard. Please refer to Notion's Privacy Policy for how they handle your data.
  • Cloudflare Workers: Used to facilitate secure API requests between the Extension and Notion.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Your Notion OAuth token is stored using Chrome's secure local storage API and is only transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. User Control and Data Deletion

  • Revoking Access: You can disconnect JotLog from your Notion account at any time via the "Settings & members" > "Connections" menu within Notion.
  • Local Data Deletion: You can delete all locally stored data, including your tracking rules and history, by uninstalling the Extension or clearing the Extension's storage in your Chrome browser.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
